Beginning with the 2018-19 season, Richland School district 88A has made several changes to their security procedures, which affects how RYS can access the building. Richland Youth Sports is required to follow these procedures, and the board and the coaches will enforce it. These procedures have been implemented for the safety of all. If you have any questions or concerns with the guidelines, please contact the school directly.
David Olson, Director of Building & Operations of D88A, has provided the following guidance that all athletes, coaches, parents, and spectators must follow when Richland Youth Sports is using Richland facilities for either practices or home games:
"...a couple of security changes (have been made) district wide when the building is open to after school activities and public use. We have started bolting in gates to limit areas and access. You will see on the map the gate locations for isolating the main gym and the B gym. Eagle bathrooms and water fountains are available in the main gym area and the bathrooms in the B gym with water fountains available just outside the gym doors. Exit doors will remain unlocked during the duration of your gym time however access to one gym to the other will be done by exiting the building and entering in at door 1 or door 4."
This means that:
1. RYS can no longer travel from the main gym to the B gym through the Junior high hallways. We must exit the building through Door 4 and enter Door 1 to get to the B gym. Conversely, you will need to exit Door 1 and walk to Door 4 to access the Main Gym.
2. RYS will not be able to access the restrooms in the junior high hallways. There are restrooms available iN the B gym.
3. If you find that Door 1 is locked, or the B gym restrooms are locked, please contact...
